Throughout my career, I've dedicated myself to advancing critical causes such as food poverty, child poverty, and enhancing women's participation in decisions which affect their lives. My work spans successful lobbying efforts, including securing direct payment for Free School Meals during the COVID-19 crisis and advancing the Children's Services Co-operation Act to Royal Assent. Leveraging my expertise within the third sector, I develop strategic public affairs initiatives that drive positive social impact and promote equality.
I have contributed significantly to policymaking bodies such as the Independent Mechanism for Northern Ireland and the Department of Health's Hyponatraemia Implementation Programme. I've also played integral roles in co-designing Anti-Poverty and Disability Strategies for the Department for Communities.
Growing up in poverty in the often challenging neighbourhood of Tiger’s Bay in north Belfast, I learned the power of collaboration early on. This belief has been a cornerstone of my professional journey. Now, I focus on creating impactful partnerships. My upcoming book delves into how charities and businesses can collaborate, emphasising their potential to drive significant social change. I firmly believe that together, we can achieve so much more.
